Bling for Tubby

I got Tubby a little bling bling in the form of an awesome Darwin fish which is now attached to Tubby's ass. I've been wanting one for a while and with Palin the creationist on the loose it seemed like an especially appropriate time to get one. If I remember I will take a picture of it.

Today I had my THIRD interview at the North Portland Veterninary Hospital. The first one was last Tuesday and it was a group interview where they asked us all a few questions, we did a little ice breaker "introduce the person sitting next to you to everyone else" thing and ladeda. Some people were there for the position I was interested in, Animal Care Assistant, and others for more of front desk position which sounds crazy busy and not at all what I really want to do. Anyways they liked me well enough and I went back and had a one on one interview with the hospital manager person yesterday. He asked a lot of "tell me about a time when..." sort of questions, which I'm not particularly fond of but I think I did alright and at the end of it he asked me if I would like to come back and do a working interview.

SO today I went and did the working interview, basically followed people around for a few hours. The girl who also works as an animal care assistant is super cool and right around my age and invited me to go bar hopping with her and her boyfriend on Halloween because she asked what I was going to be and I said probably nothing since I don't have any friends here at the moment : ( Anywho, we shall see if that happens. I'm pretty sure they will officially offer me the job which would be neat, it's super part time just Thursdays and Fridays from 2-8 which is all I really want right now and so far everyone there seems really nice and helpful. The doctor who owns the practice was really nice to me, remembered my name, thought that Scripps was the marine biology place (I still wonder, how the hell does every one seem to fricken know about that place?), and he reminds me of Professor Zanella which is cool. I think he would let me observe a lot of stuff. The job is mostly cleaning and organizing shit which is exactly what I like to obssess about so I'd be pretty happy with that + good experience for vet school = YAY.

Everything else is going pretty well. I will be a little sad when Leanne heads back to UofO because even though she's a pain in the ass sometimes it's nice to have her around to be able to do things with every now and then. Liz will be back at the end of October and I'm going to try and go visit her sometime soon and Chev too, or Chev will come to Portland, we will work something out I am sure. I got to see Jill in Atlanta because she had to evacuate from New Orleans, stupid hurricanes, but it was nice to see her and chill. And OMG I watched all of Arrested Development and it was grand. Horses are good, dogs are good. Vet school application process is slightly less than good and is due by Oct 2nd, somehow that will get done...
