"Princess"

I went as a ride along today with our equine vet. We gave our old pony, Suzy, to her for her kids when we had all outgrown her. She is now close to 30 years old and is the best pony ever and has a pink sparkly Princess sign hanging on her stall door. Every time someone comes out of the office she does the cutest little pony whinny/nicker. Man I love that pony. And so does Barb (the vet). She foundered a little bit in the spring and now has special shoes on her tiny pony feet, cute cute cute. I watched Barb's youngest daughter ride her on the lunge line a little and it was of course adorable.

So I am going to be doing the ride along thing every Wednesday. It should be a very good experience booster especially since Wednesdays tend to be their longest day. Got to see some cute baby horses today. I will never understand why Arab people shave the babies heads and necks, I think it just looks ridiculous but whatever. None of the cases were too terribly interesting today but Barb and Nikki (the vet tech) are both fun to be around and trust me to do stuff. We were all sorely disappointed with one case because we were expecting a nice big pussy shoulder abcess or something but it turned out to just be a sore near the flank that wasn't pussy at all, dang. I'm sure the time will come when we will get to squeeze puss out of something, hehehe. Now I just need to muster up the courage to ask Barb to write me a letter of rec. I know she will but I'm gonna give it a few more weeks before I actually ask her. Application is going rather slowly I started my personal statement but I hate writing it so that one is gonna take a while.
