On a happier front, I'm going to Atlanta on Thursday, WOOOOOOOO!
And, yesterday I rode Ina bareback for the first time. It is a very different sensation then riding with the saddle on and Ina wasn't too sure about it at first, she probably thought I was a crazy person. Which I was a little, I mean "oh hey let me get on my 4 year old without a saddle and without lungeing her first" is not necessarily the smartest idea in the world. However, my desire to try it and my curiosity about whether I could stay on or not intrigued me enough to try. I really like riding bareback when I'm not terrified for my life and there aren't any sharp turns involved. I've got a pretty good seat but a horses back is much slippier than a saddle = much more difficult to stay centered and balanced. Anywho, she ended up being a very good girl once she figured out it was still me up there and she still had to obey. I shall perhaps try it again in the near future.
On Saturday night I went to my work's holiday party. It was actually pretty enjoyable, they rented this place and there was food and I got a nice present from my secret santa. My present not only included a really cool horse-related book but also Swirly gummi bears, they are gummi bears infused with "real fruit juice." I'm not entirely convinced about the realness of the juice but they were pretty fricken tasty. If I hadn't eaten them all already I'd eat some right now. Job is good, I wish I made more money but oh well, its a nice place to work, I'm learning/seeing some cool stuff, and I still have time to ride, so overall I can't complain too much.
And oh yes, Thanksgiving weekend Jill and I saw the Decemberists (yet again) and they were awesome of course. We were up in the balcony and Colin (lead singer) kept making fun of the people in the balcony and pointing up to it and being like "oh you people up there, thinking you are better than everyone else". The way he was pointing made it look like he was pointing straight at Jill and I, so of course we did whatever he told us to do, because he's Colin and he was pointing, how could we not? Twas fun to actually see them in Portland for the first time because they are from here and that makes them even more awesome. I should go to more concerts, they are fun and having fun makes me happy. Hope you are all happy too. bye bye.
